What if all this went away?

I had a disturbing thought last night, in between spasms of concealed rage and the fervent longing for a sack of rotten fruit to cast at the interminable speakers wasting my precious life in the course of a mandatory meeting.

Blogspot.com has been acting funny lately. I'm not the only one who's noticed. What if I were to wake up some morning and find that it had completely and permanently crashed?

All my posts may be so much cyber-rubbish but some truly intelligent people have made comments here that I never want to lose. And I believe that I have made some life-long friends through blog world, people whom I genuinely care about. How would I ever connect with them again if blogspot were to suddenly vanish?

Create a backup silly. :)

Yes, I need to learn how to do that, now that I have a computer that might be capable of doing so.

But still, it would only be a record of the past if blogspot.com never came back up.

I wonder if the system allows for private messaging options such as various web groups have, so that we could at least still email each other if all else failed.

That would suck. I enjoy writing and communicating with this small circle of friends we seem to have developed here around your blog. I would be very depressing if anything were to happen to this site.

As for back ups, I have printed out my blog entries and put them inside a duotang. But that only protects my blog.

The weird thing about this is the anonymity of the bloggers. If blogspot did go silent, we would probably have a difficult time finding each other online.

All we can do is enjoy it now. I don't think it will be going anywhere, however. Unless it gets abused widely but uncaring and irresponsible bloggers. But I don't see that happening.

That would be a sad, sad, sad day ecd. For a newbie like me to world of blogging it amazes me how quickly one can become attached to this, I'm still learning the etiquette involved and only scratching the surface of how I want to write and present my blog!

I will back up mine, afterall somewhere down the line I will have my own autobiography and in order for people to sing my praises I must leave them some records ;)

I took Your email off to prevent You from being swamped with spam and nutjobs.

But I've got it now and I thank You very much.
