On the recent quake in Japan

To any of my blog readers who have family or friends hurt, or property damaged, in the recent earthquake in Japan, I offer my condolences, and hope that such a thing will not happen again any time soon.

We live on a restless planet.

I have never been to Japan but I would love to visit someday.

Japan is one of my favourite countries just because I simply can't help but love people who make it a general purpose to watch cherry trees bloom. As cruel as they might have been, they strike a chord with the sensitivity they portray, not simply in everyday life or in their films, but in the way they form their lives and help each other, no matter what. May sound like a communist dream, a Faustus-like moment, but it does bring happiness to know you have someone to rely on in the midst of hardships no matter what.
This ends the little rant on my obsession with Japan :)

Every nation has had a history of cruelty, Mara -- it's a baser element of our human nature.

The Japanese also celebrate their children with specific holidays for boys and for Girls. Very nice!
