A doggy fable

I read this in Babrius tonight and thought of Dawn:

"A man about to go on a journey said to his dog standing by:

'Why are you gaping? Get everything ready; you are going with me.'

The dog wagged his tail, fawning on his master, and said: 'I've got everything; it's you who are delaying.'"

Oh how sweet!!! I love that and will probably steal it - or at least reference it. :)

Imagine what life would be like if humans could act that way? Especially towards each other? Sigh.

Morinn: I always enjoy it when I can find value or humor in something written nearly 2,000 years ago.

Dawn: Since the fellow who wrote this has been dead for quite some time, I think it's in the public domain.

Melanie: Dogs make more sense than people a lot of the time.

Kat: Cowabunga? Cool enough. Makes me think of Bart Simpson, who's a cool little dude when he isn't busy being choked by Homer.
