Beautiful

The two most beautiful sounds in the world are a Mother's lullaby and the laughter of children.

This afternoon, after completing an annoying work assignment, I spirited my Niece in law away from all the crabby grownups that were driving Her nuts and we played with a Nerf frisbee for about half an hour outside. And for half an hour She did not stop giggling and laughing as we flung that silly frisbee hither and yon. We spelled Her name with dandelion flowers and searched for rolly pollies and played frisbee some more and She laughed so hard She finally had to dash to the bathroom before She wet Her pants.

Children's laughter is music. Children's joy is good for all of us. I wish there was more of it in the world.

You and me both ECD - nowadays it is rare to see happy smiling faces on people unless it happens to be a child - and even they are learning more and more to be cranky and whiny like a lot of their elders.

I agree with you about the laughter of children.

She's lucky to have an uncle like you! You are making wonderful memories for her.....

Janice: And yet we have more luxuries and time-saving gadgets than ever. Go figure.

Ian: And not about lullabys?

Molly: You are one of the blog friends I have not visited in a long time. Your sweet comment is a good reminder for me to hie thither to thy blog.

You are so right! I think many adults could learn something from kids! They truly know how to enjoy life! :)

Foster: Unfortunately, the trend today is for adults to squash that joie de vivre, sometimes out of corporate greed, sometimes with the best of intentions.

Neighborhood covenants now prevent tree climbing and tree house building.

Marketers salivate over the children's market in manufactured toys, video games and such, creating insatiable mini-materialists, when we should all be encouraging said children to put it all down, turn it off, go outside and get their feet muddy in a creek.

They don't play marbles. They don't play with jacks. They don't ride bicycles. And whatever they do do, is at the behest of grown ups, on some hectic schedule, under constant adult direction.

Here, hear! I love kids laughter. I love when the three of us in our little family laugh together. THAT is music :)
