Earthquake.
Hurricane.
Still no job.
But I am in good health. So is my Beloved. Life is a gift, each and every day. I boiled acorns yesterday to leach out the bitter tannin, and then roasted them, dusted them with powdered sugar and enjoyed.

Good to hear you sounding so pisitive!
Good to hear from you. Of course, I hope that better times come around but I am glad that you can see all the blessings even now. That acorn recipe sounds interesting to this squirrel.
I didn't know one can do that to an acorn. Were they good in taste?
Maybe I'll try them.
Yes, acorns were one of the earliest foods of humankind. They can be eaten whole like nuts or ground into flour. But different types of acorns have to be boiled longer than others, with the water changed as it turns tea-colored; and then roasted once the tannin has been leached out.
