I made some pretty good little "pies" for the family Super Bowl party yesterday. Crust: shredded potato, onion, egg, flour, butter. Filling: chopped ham, onion, green pepper, chili powder, tomato, celery.
Then discovered my little Niece-in-law crying in the living room over some unhappy turn of events. We sat and quietly talked and I rubbed Her tiny bare feet until Her frown vanished and She began to nod off to sleep.
The Giants won. Hooray for them.
Yah Giants! They had a great game. They stopped the ever mighty Patriots and didn't listen to any of the naysayers. That's what it takes to win.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gift little ones give us when they let us comfort them. They are quite the discriminating sorts.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you enjoyed your day.
The pies sound wonderful! And nothing like a comforting talk good foot rub to soothe away (many of) life's problems...
ReplyDeleteGo Giants, indeed!! It was a FANTASTIC game.
I thoroughly enjoyed the game and ribbing my partner about her Patriot's loss.....
ReplyDeleteI like potato and egg.
ReplyDeleteYour "pies" must be delicious!
the pie sounds lovely!
ReplyDeletego giants.
I have been wanting to say how much I like the new art!
ReplyDeleteI agree with leslie ... it is great.
ReplyDeleteand though I wanted perfection for the Patriots, I was glad for Manning and their heroics.
Chase: You all have tv reception in Canada? Just kidding!
ReplyDeleteFoster: Truly, a gift indeed. And so magical -- I will never forget my Grandmother holding my brother's baby in Her arms last summer and soothing him to sleep.
Rebecca: They have television reception in New York City? Just kidding!
Maria: Maybe next time Bing will root for a real team.
BigCat and Melanie: Oh, they were, they were. I had the hardest time keeping the Ladies from eating the filling before the pies were ready. (I'm not being sexist here -- I'm sure the guys would have been a problem if they hadn't all been watching the pregame show.
Leslie and Kat: I'm glad You like the new look of Isis.
